Fashion Design
I took a Fashion Design and Visual Thinking course at Cornell University, where I designed a capsule collection based on a trend report.
I learned how to use Adobe Suite products like Illustrator and Photoshop for design, and the broadly applicable skills of trend research and designing for a target market.
My collection name is Functional Femininity, and my main focus was blending practical, traditionally masculine, elements with the feminine garment that is the skirt. I wear a lot of skirts in my day to day life, and am often frustrated with their lack of mobility and storage options. I applied my passion for engineering to create transforming designs, and made sure to add loops and pockets for essential storage.
I created this capsule collection for the target market of middle class college students living in urban areas like San Francisco.

Bonus 3D Illustration
For this course we also had the opportunity to create some 3D fashion illustrations (unrelated to my capsule collection). This was my favorite piece I created, inspired by the human heart. It is yarn on paper, and I added a colorful background in Photoshop.
